Sutherland in second, 'Dogs in fifth at MW Championship

CRESWELL, Ore. – Senior Matthew Sutherland shot a 2-under to move up to second place on the leaderboard, and Fresno State finished with a 1-under 287 on Saturday at the Mountain West Championship.

The Bulldogs are tied for fifth place with a total score of 4-under 572 through two rounds at the 7,210-yard, par-72 Emerald Valley Golf Club.

Colorado State is the 36-hole leader at 10-under, six shots ahead of the Bulldogs. San Diego State and San Jose State are tied for second at 8-under and Utah State is in fourth at 6-under. Fresno State is tied with New Mexico at 4-under.

Sutherland is 6-under through two rounds, one shot back of tournament-leader Julio Arronte of Utah State. Sutherland had six birdies on Saturday.

Matthew Manganello moved up 13 places on the leaderboard after shooting a 2-under 70 in the second round. He is tied for 20th with an overall score of even-par 144.

Joseph Lloyd shot an even-par 72 in the second round, he sits in 31st at 2-over. Mason Benbrook is 1-over and Ryan Firpo is 4-over.
